I'm just guessing that Bryant and Keithark are on the same team... going for the same rebound....

Besides, regardless of the devs modifying the drop rate of ectos, there are more then enough "farmers" right now with multiple accounts (in the various regions which get favor) that I seriously doubt that an opening of UW/FoW to the "masses" would generate a sufficient surge in supply to really affect prices.

About the OP

Even though I don't do UW and FoW, it's kind of hard to grasp for me that the succes of other players should determine my gameplay experience. I know that I would be pretty pissed if I could only GvG if Europe farmed more ectos

Favour should reduce the entrance fee of UW/FoW and other related god things, but not be required to access said things.

Or the price should be increased 10x when one does not have favour.

No, access to PvE areas should be determined by PvE events. PvP should only affect access to PvP events.

At this time since so much has changed..I would say No. PVP shouldnt affect PVE in regards to UW/FOW.

PVP, should IMO, still affect the gods blessings at shrines. Your nation has favor, your nation has the blessings of the gods.

If need be they can charge more for those without favour (or nothing for the region with favour).

Otherwise if ANet wants PvE people to PvP more, they should give rewards that my PvE character really needs. Like maybe actually buying skills for use in PvE. Could well be double price like x faction to unlock, x faction to buy an unlocked skill to use. Then I had motivation and a reward to spend time in PvP - otherwise it's high end endgame after unlocking tons of skills, which is an unnecessary hurdle.

Mr. Saliere, let me state clearly that I am on your side and personally want the favor system to go away. But I think that before that happens, ANet would need to have some kind of system in place that replaces it and makes PvP victory meaningful.

I talk to a lot of players, some in game, some in ts/ventrilo, and some in RL. Those who like the system the way it is have voiced universally that if the favor system was not there, then all those people sweating and working and trying new builds and (in general) playing their hearts out to get favor, would have no reason to continue at their current level of fervor. The PvP players know that literally a million people will be affected, and that provides some incentive. Taking that away makes GvG (and PvP in general since everyone knows that everything else is merely warmup for GvG) meaningless without the consequences spread out for continents to see.

Do you have an alternate system with some teeth? I have seen a recommendation recently to make it 1 plat for favored, 10 plat for everyone else to get in, but for some reason that does not have the same punch that barred access does.

I know that the real pros register in various regions and are not affected by favor, but average joes like me and you are.

Maybe ANet will not change this until they have something else to replace it that will not kick the legs out from under GvG.

Any thoughts?

CC is one of the few American guilds left that HA on a regular basis...Although, Chamelee and Bunneh are nice people...I doubt getting Favor is a top priority for them. Getting Favor was never a priority when I was in CC, or any other HA guild to be honest.

I feel bad for players on the Japan server, I've never seen them with Favor.
